Job summary

HR GO Recruitment - Bishop's Stortford is seeking a mechanically minded night-shift maintenance person to support production lines. You will diagnose faults, perform first-line mechanical maintenance and help ensure the shift plan runs smoothly.

You’ll work with the Engineering team or external specialists for complex issues, stay calm under pressure, and collaborate with colleagues to improve equipment reliability and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing and production line experience.
• Food industry experience (not essential).
• Previous fault finding experience.
• Mechanical and/or engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults on production machinery.
• Carry out mechanical first-line maintenance and preventative maintenance (PPM).
• Escalate to Engineering or external specialists when deeper expertise is required.
• Support the team to ensure the shift plan runs on time.

Role Summary

You'll be the person that helps the team organise to make sure the plan for the shift happens on time and be the first responder when production lines stop. You'll diagnose and repair faults where possible, performing mechanical first-line maintenance and preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep our machinery running smoothly. When faults require deeper expertise whether electrical or mechanical, you'll work directly with our Engineering team or external specialists to get production back online safely and quickly.
