Job summary

This hands-on leadership role emphasizes TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, RESTful APIs and microservices in a hybrid setup with about one day on site per week.

You will mentor engineers, translate requirements into technical solutions, lead backend design, and contribute to frontend work using React or Angular.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Previous technical leadership / Lead Developer experience.
• Experience with AWS.
• RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Full-stack development using React or Angular.
• Automated testing and test-driven engineering practices.
• Experience with Jest and/or Playwright.
• CI/CD and GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of SOLID principles and clean code.
• Experience with Git and Agile development.
• Mentoring engineers and guiding teams.
• Healthcare or digital health experience with FHIR/HL7 advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong technical leadership to a newly formed engineering team.
• Lead the design and development of back-end services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Work closely with Technical Architects and Designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Contribute to modern front-end applications using React, Angular or similar technologies.
• Build and deploy solutions within AWS environments.
• Champion clean, secure and maintainable engineering practices.
• Drive automated testing using Jest, Playwright or similar tools.
• Support CI/CD and automated deployment using GitHub Actions.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor engineers and influence technical decisions.
• Take solutions through the full lifecycle from design and development to testing and production deployment.
