Qualifications

• Strong software development background with governance and technical leadership experience.
• Hands-on with Python, C#/.NET and JavaScript in modern environments.
• Experience delivering REST API-based services and integrations.
• Familiar with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Azure App Services and Azure Functions.
• Ability to design scalable, maintainable platforms and provide production readiness.
• Experience leading teams and overseeing external partners.
• Knowledge of security, architecture reviews and design governance.
• Understanding of software development lifecycles and governance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain software engineering standards, practices and governance across our organisation.
• Act as the technical authority for our internally developed apps, integrations, automation solutions and service platforms.
• Analyse existing services and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and production-ready before entering production.
• Provide technical leadership, design assurance and engineering oversight throughout the SDLC.
• Review designs against non-functional requirements including availability, performance and security.
• Manage one internal developer and oversee external software partners to meet standards.
• Promote engineering best practices, mentoring and capability development.
• Contribute to design and continual improvement of internal platforms and services.
• Drive CI/CD adoption, automation and modern engineering practices.
• Identify and reduce technical debt and production defects.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and tools, recommending to the CTO.
