You will split time between hands-on development (about 60%) and leadership (40%), guiding architectural decisions, code reviews, and infrastructure transitions to bring critical capabilities in-house. The role demands strong communication with non-technical stakeholders and a track record of delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong Java experience on high-volume applications.
• 3+ years leading or mentoring engineers with demonstrable growth.
• Ownership of architecture and strategic decisions end-to-end.
• Experience with cloud, containers, and DevSecOps basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a growing engineering team and bring development in-house.
• Hands-on codework ~60% with 40% leadership responsibilities.
• Take ownership of the platform transition and internal domain knowledge.
• Provide architecture direction and make strategic technical decisions.
• Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards.
• Support the transition of infrastructure and DevSecOps capabilities in-house.
• Lead a team of four, expanding to six over time.
• Report to the Head of Development and Architecture.
• Navigate challenging delivery scenarios and technical debt.
