Job summary

Nando's is seeking a Technical Lead for the Restaurant Ordering team in our Putney office. You will own team delivery, set technical direction, and lead a mixed group of software and ePOS engineers through hands-on leadership, reviews and problem solving to keep restaurants trading smoothly.

You will drive architecture, scale IoT initiatives, and collaborate with NCR, Stripe and internal ops to ensure secure, resilient systems and high-quality releases.

Qualifications

• Strong technical breadth across cloud services and Windows management.
• Experience with TypeScript or Golang.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).
• A proven track record of mentoring and coaching.
• Experience owning team plans and delivering while balancing live-service work.
• Secure-by-design mindset and emphasis on quality, resilience.

Responsibilities

• Own how the team runs, including stand-ups, planning and backlog management.
• Represent the team at the weekly delivery forum.
• Balance live-service support against project delivery and roadmap progress.
• Shape architecture and technical direction of products and restaurant tech estate.
• Lead incident response and blameless post-mortems for learning.
• Line-manage engineers and mentor team members across levels.
