Job summary

Evolve Energy in Manchester is seeking a hands-on Lead Developer to set technical direction, solve complex engineering problems and mentor the next generation of engineers. You will shape architecture for a services-based platform on Azure, balancing delivery with long-term sustainability and partnering with product and business stakeholders to deliver measurable value.

Qualifications

Strong C#/.NET production experience with clean, well-tested code.
Experience designing services-based or distributed architectures and defining service boundaries.
Hands-on Azure experience including Azure SQL, Service Bus, Functions, Key Vault and monitoring services.
CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code with automated build, test and deployment controls.
Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-system design decisions.
Evidence of setting technical direction and improving engineering standards.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction and architectural standards for cross-system platforms.
Lead design of complex, scalable services and trade-offs for stakeholders.
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to raise technical capability.
Improve engineering flow and reduce lead time for change using data-driven insight.
Optimize CI/CD pipelines and deployment reliability with trunk-based development.
