Job summary

Evolve Energy Supply Limited is looking for a hands-on Senior Developer in Manchester. You will own the delivery of significant changes, remain active in code, and shape solutions while coordinating dependencies across teams.

You will work with engineers, QA, analysts and stakeholders to drive quality, observability, testing and security, within a hybrid work pattern. This role emphasizes practical impact on production and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial C# and modern .NET experience with production code.
• Experience designing services-based or distributed solutions across system boundaries.
• Azure experience including services like Azure SQL, Functions, Key Vault, monitoring.
• CI/CD experience with automated build, test and deployment controls.
• Knowledge of TDD, automated testing, observability and secure engineering.
• Experience with APIs, SQL Server and EF Core.
• Practical use of AI-assisted engineering tools with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery and operational outcomes across services and system boundaries.
• Remain hands-on in code while guiding design decisions and coordinating dependencies.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment practices and release confidence.
• Drive observability with metrics, logs, traces and alerting to understand service impact.
• Coach engineers through pairing, reviews and knowledge transfer.
• Balance quality with speed and manage risks and blockers early.
• Collaborate with product, QA, analysts and stakeholders to shape requirements.
