Job summary

Assystem seeks an experienced Technical Lead to drive technically challenging defence projects. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensure technical excellence, and support client relationships under the Technical Director.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you’ll own technical delivery, coordinate teams, and guide Change Control while upholding QMS and safety standards across the account.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• CEng or IEng, or working towards registration, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentorship to engineering delivery teams.
• Lead technical direction, solution development and delivery of projects within the account.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams for successful project execution.
• Ensure engineers understand project requirements, methods and processes.
• Lead Change Control activities across projects.
• Own technical quality and ensure deliverables meet contractual and client requirements.
• Act as primary technical contact for internal and external stakeholders.
• Report on technical status, progress, risks and performance of projects.
• Ensure compliance with relevant technical, quality and regulatory standards (QMS).
• Support business growth by developing technical proposals and engineering solutions.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships with the Technical Director to identify new opportunities.
• Lead technical aspects of bids and tenders, including scope, methodologies and estimates.
