Job summary

Mistral AI is seeking a Technical Lead, Applied AI to guide technical strategy and delivery for enterprise customers. You will lead Applied AI Engineer teams, drive pre-sales technical discussions, and oversee complex AI system implementations including fine-tuning, RAG and agentic workflows.

You will bridge cutting-edge AI research with real-world deployments, ensuring robust, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs and Mistral's roadmap while mentoring and growing technical talent

Qualifications

• Fluent English is required and demonstrated ability to communicate complex AI concepts to varied audiences.
• PhD or Master’s degree in AI, ML, CS or a related field.
• 7+ years of AI/ML experience with 2+ years in technical leadership.
• Proven track record of leading teams to deliver complex AI projects from prototype to production.
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and NLP deployment at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deliver as an IC the critical lines of code for complex projects, including review and optimization of AI solutions.
• Lead technical teams of Applied AI Engineers with mentorship and best practices.
• Lead technical discussions during pre-sales, translating customer needs into actionable AI solutions.
• Design and oversee the implementation of complex AI systems, including fine-tuning, RAG, and agentic workflows.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new AI tools and methodologies and championing best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to feed customer feedback into roadmaps.
