Technical Lead / Lead Full Stack Developer
Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Salary: Up to £85,000 + benefits
The Role
We are working with a forward-thinking technology company in Manchester that is continuing to invest in its engineering function as it scales its cloud-native platform.
They are looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Lead Full Stack Developer to provide hands-on technical leadership across a modern Microsoft technology stack. This role combines software engineering, architecture and team leadership, giving you the opportunity to shape technical direction while remaining actively involved in development.
Working closely with Product Owners, Developers and stakeholders, you'll lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable enterprise applications, champion engineering best practices, and help evolve a modern Azure-based platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of enterprise-grade applications using .NET and Angular
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to a team of software developers
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to define technical solutions and influence architecture
- Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using ASP.NET Core
- Build and maintain modern Angular applications using TypeScript
- Design, deploy and maintain cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM or similar technologies
- Drive improvements across CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes
- Ensure applications are secure, maintainable and aligned with OWASP best practices
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering standards across the development team
- Work closely with UI/UX teams to deliver high-quality user experiences
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, architectural decisions and continuous platform improvements
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer or Senior Full Stack Developer
- Strong commercial experience developing applications using C# and .NET
- Experience building modern front-end applications with Angular and TypeScript
- Strong knowledge of ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework and RESTful APIs
- Commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure
- Experience with Azure services such as App Services, Azure SQL, Storage, Key Vault and Entra ID
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Bicep, ARM Templates or Terraform
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar
- Strong understanding of secure software development and OWASP principles
- Experience working within Agile development teams
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for mentoring and improving engineering practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with DevExpress / DevExtreme
- Experience working with Azure Functions or event-driven architectures
- Docker and containerisation experience
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as NUnit or xUnit
- Experience working within regulated or security-focused environments
