Job summary

Humdinger is seeking a Technical Intake & Supplier Assurance Technician to ensure raw materials meet high standards before transformation into snacks and chocolates. You’ll sample materials in the warehouse, perform on-site lab tests, and verify delivery documents for quality compliance.

The role involves managing Mitti and QAD systems, raising non-conformances, maintaining hygiene, and supporting supplier assurance activities in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (Technical, QA, Production or NPD).
• Knowledge of QA principles and Food Safety with a pragmatic approach.
• Excellent organisation, communication and multitasking skills.
• Hands-on attitude between warehouse and lab; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Sample raw materials and packaging from deliveries in the warehouse and test in the on-site lab.
• Perform physical and in-house testing of food products and packaging.
• Cross-check delivery documentation against quality standards.
• Manage Mitti and QAD systems; submit test results and release materials.

• Ensure compliance with BRC standards and customer codes of practice.
• Maintain hygiene and calibrate equipment daily.
• Perform allergen swabs and address discrepancies.

• Assist traceability exercises and customer complaint investigations.

Zertus UK & Ireland - Based at a Zertus 3PL Warehouse Location - Knowles Transport, New Road, March PE15 0RG

At Zertus, we’re looking for an enthusiastic Technical Intake & Supplier Assurance Technician to ensure our nuts, cocoa, and other raw materials meet our high standards before they’re transformed into delicious treats like chocolate buttons, Easter eggs, and flavored nuts at our manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities

• Work in the warehouse to sample raw materials and packaging directly from deliveries and test them in our on-site lab.
• Complete physical and in-house testing of food products and packaging.
• Cross-check delivery documentation, ensuring everything meets our quality standards.
• Manage systems like Mitti and QAD, submit external test results, and release materials for production
• Raise non-conformances and support supplier assurance tasks.
• Ensure compliance with BRC standards and customer codes of practice.
• Maintain hygiene standards and calibrate equipment daily.
• Perform allergen swabs and troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Build relationships with suppliers to improve the intake process and reduce rejected deliveries.
• Support the Technical and NPD teams with sample testing and additional requests.
• Assist in traceability exercises and customer complaint investigations.

• Knowledge of QA principles, Food Safety, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent organisation, communication, and multitasking skills.
• A hands-on attitude, attention to detail, and a knack for spotting improvement opportunities.
• Strong computer skills - you'll be completing paperwork, using MS Office and our systems via computers or ipads on daily basis.
• Well-developed communication skills - you'll need to present written and verbal reports that are understood by the target audience.
• Project coordination - you'll need to get hands-on and understand the critical path to deliver within agreed timeframes.
