Job summary

BGIS UK & Europe is seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership, operational support, and strategic direction across a diverse portfolio of properties. The role ensures safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of engineering services while driving sustainability and asset performance.

You will collaborate with site engineers, clients, and contractors to uphold standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a senior engineering or technical management role within hard services or facilities management.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
• Experience managing engineering teams, contractors, and technical service delivery.
• In-depth knowledge of statutory compliance, engineering governance, and operational risk management.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong report writing and technical presentation capabilities.
• Proven ability to influence, engage, and build relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across engineering operations, ensuring contractual obligations, service standards, and KPIs are achieved.
• Oversee CAFM data management, asset verification, and lifecycle planning.
• Oversee high and low voltage electrical activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Support building performance improvement initiatives and energy optimisation programmes.
• Review proposed engineering works and advise on technical suitability and impact.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
• Provide technical support and escalation to operational teams (out-of-hours where required).
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams; recruitment and talent development.
