Job summary

Calder Industrial Materials in Chester is seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary engineering team on-site. You will allocate resources, guide end-to-end technical delivery across design, CNC programming and manufacturing engineering, and collaborate with production, quality and commercial teams to meet demand.

Qualifications

HNC/HND in engineering or time served apprenticeship.
Ability to solve problems & provide robust technical solutions to problems.
Experience leading a team in a technical environment.
A flexible approach to work and the desire to thrive in a dynamic and varied environment.
Track record of NPI from PFMEA and Control Plan development to robust process development and work instructions.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor design, CNC programming and Manufacturing engineers.
Ensure safe process design with human factors within its design.
Own production processes and factory layout planning to support demand.
Drive NPI from contract award to production readiness with supply chain alignment.
Collaborate with commercial teams to understand volume demand and capacity.
Develop medium- and long-term industrial strategy and cost improvement initiatives.
