Job summary

J3A Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join a growing UK engineering and machinery manufacturer. This role focuses on leadership of a multidisciplinary engineering function, not just maintenance, with emphasis on design, machinery manufacture, CAD and product development.

Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will drive delivery, technical standards, and continuous improvement, collaborating with Production, Projects, Quality, Procurement and Sales to optimise

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering function within manufacturing, machinery or engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical engineering principles.
• Proven ability to design and develop machinery.
• Hands-on CAD expertise with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience delivering projects in a project-based manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Engineering Department.
• Manage engineering workloads, resources and priorities.
• Lead CAD/Design and Product Development activities.
• Oversee engineering projects from concept through to manufacture.
• Review engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation.
• Drive standardisation of machine drawings and engineering practices.
• Lead NPD, product improvement and engineering innovation.
• Manage engineering change control and documentation.
• Work closely with Production, Projects, Quality, Procurement and Sales.
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes and efficiency.
