Job summary

Anglian Water Services is inviting graduates to join a two-year development programme based from Peterborough with occasional travel to our London hub and other sites. The role offers a £33,000 salary and permanent, full-time employment.

You will rotate across the Reservoirs Programme, gaining exposure to design, project management and technical assurance while learning from experienced colleagues and working on real infrastructure challenges.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in any discipline with at least a 2:2, by Sep 2027.
• Strong technical understanding, problem solving and excellent communication skills.
• Ambitious and eager to learn within a two-year graduate programme with exposure to multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering activities with strategic suppliers.
• Assist with defining project requirements, scope and basis of design.
• Support development of technical justifications and evidencing decisions.
• Assist with survey scope development and implementation.
• Support technical assurance activities and preparation of reports for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project management, site delivery, stakeholder, legal, planning and consenting teams.

Your programme

Working within the Reservoirs Programme you will gain exposure to a wide range of technical activities supporting the design and engineering of nationally significant infrastructure projects.

You’ll be involved in:

• Supporting the management of design and engineering activities with our strategic suppliers
• Supporting definition of project requirements, scope, assumptions and basis of design
• Supporting development and agreement of technical justifications and evidencing of project technical decisions
• Supporting survey scope development and implementation
• Supporting technical assurance activities
• Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
• Working collaboratively with teams across the programme, including project management, site delivery, stakeholder, legal, planning, consenting teams

Throughout the programme, you'll receive structured development, mentoring and hands-on experience across a range of technical areas.

We're particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate strong technical understanding, problem solving skills, organisational skills, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

You will have achieved, or be working towards, an Engineering degree in any discipline, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or a related engineering field.

For this role, you’ll need to have obtained in the last 3 years or be studying towards a minimum 2:2 in the preferred degree disciplines listed and have graduated by September 2027 for the 2027 intake.
