Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. invites graduates to join the Reservoirs Programme, gaining exposure to a range of technical activities while supporting design and engineering across high-value infrastructure projects.

You will rotate through placements across Peterborough, our London hub, and partner sites, with mentoring, development opportunities and sponsorship for professional qualifications. A minimum 2:2 Engineering degree is required, with graduation by September 2027.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process or related field.
• Graduation must be by Sept 2027 (last 3 years) with a minimum 2:2.
• Flexibility to relocate/placements across Peterborough, London hub, or partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Support design and engineering activities for major infrastructure projects.
• Assist in defining project requirements, scope, and basis of design.
• Contribute to development of technical justifications and evidencing decisions.
• Assist with survey scope development and implementation.
• Support technical assurance activities and reporting to senior stakeholders.

Salary:£33,000, Permanent role. Start date: September 2027 Location: Successful graduate will be based from Peterborough with occasional travel to our London hub (Kings Cross), one of our construction sites or a partner office. Please note your placements may vary across the region and departments so flexibility is essential.

Your programme

Working within the Reservoirs Programme you will gain exposure to a wide range of technical activities supporting the design and engineering of nationally significant infrastructure projects.

• Supporting the management of design and engineering activities with our strategic suppliers
• Supporting definition of project requirements, scope, assumptions and basis of design
• Supporting development and agreement of technical justifications and evidencing of project technical decisions
• Supporting survey scope development and implementation
• Supporting technical assurance activities
• Assisting with the preparation of reports and presentations for senior stakeholders

Working collaboratively with teams across the programme, including project management, site delivery, stakeholder, legal, planning, consenting teams. Throughout the programme, you'll receive structured development, mentoring and hands-on experience across a range of technical areas. We're particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate strong technical understanding, problem solving skills, organisational skills, excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

You will have achieved, or be working towards, an Engineering degree in any discipline, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or a related engineering field. For this role, you'll need to have obtained in the last 3 years or be studying towards a minimum 2:2 in the preferred degree disciplines listed and have graduated by September 2027 for the 2027 intake.
