Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Technical Engineer – Masonry Support Systems in Thames Valley with hybrid working (3 onsite days, 2 days from home). You will manage projects from tender to completion, produce GA layouts, and respond to technical enquiries, liaising with suppliers to obtain literature.

You will read architect and structural drawings, develop efficient solutions, and prepare CPDs and detailed technical submissions. Degree in construction is required, ideally structural/civil.

Qualifications

• Must have a construction related degree.
• Ideally within structural or civil engineering degree (BSc/BEng).
• Must have working knowledge of related systems such as masonry support, fixings, anchoring systems, restraint systems, precast concrete systems, glass façade fixings, brickwork cladding, brickwork fixing systems, fasteners.

Responsibilities

• Senior Technical Engineer position dealing with a high quality range masonry support systems.
• Managing projects from tender through to completion.
• Production of GA layouts and sections, manufacture and setting out drawings.
• Responding to technical enquiries from customers and liaising with suppliers to obtain further technical literature where required.
• Read technical drawings provided by architect, façade and structural engineers drawings, liaising directly with respective parties to develop and detail efficient solutions meeting the client’s requirements.
• Prepare and provide CPDs to clients to improve their knowledge of product range.
• Develop technical specification by preparing detailed technical submissions including all necessary drawings and calculations.
• Working on projects varying in value from £50k to £500k+.
