Job summary

Foot Anstey LLP is seeking a Technical Delivery Manager for Software and Data Engineering on a 9-month fixed-term contract. Hybrid working from Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth or Southampton, full-time arrangement.

The role focuses on delivering technology and data solutions to support firm growth, with collaboration across engineering, architecture and business change teams. You will lead multiple delivery streams, manage risks and dependencies, and partner with architects to balance speed, quality

Qualifications

  • Experience leading or managing technical delivery within Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycles and how apps, systems and cloud platforms interoperate.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing delivery plans, risks, dependencies and priorities across multiple initiatives.
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions with engineers and architects to resolve challenges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on outcomes and value.
  • Experience with Agile delivery frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid).
  • Collaborative mindset with a drive for continuous improvement in delivery practices.
  • Clear reporting, documentation and stakeholder updates to communicate progress.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate technical delivery across projects, products and teams to align with business priorities.
  • Manage dependencies, risks and competing priorities for predictable delivery.
  • Work with Project Managers to align technical delivery and change activities.
  • Partner with architects and engineers to shape delivery approaches balancing speed and quality.
  • Facilitate workshops, planning sessions and discussions with clear decisions and actions.
  • Drive delivery planning, forecasting and continuous improvement across the team.
  • Coach teams in Agile ways of working, fostering accountability and ownership.
  • Monitor delivery performance using metrics to support decision-making and highlight improvements.
  • Serve as a key link between engineering, leadership and business stakeholders.

What you’ll do

Working closely with our engineering, architecture and business change teams, you'll help create the structure, transparency and momentum needed to successfully deliver a diverse portfolio of technical projects. This is a highly collaborative role where you'll combine delivery leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement to ensure our teams can focus on delivering great outcomes.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead and coordinate technical delivery activity across multiple projects, products and teams, ensuring technical delivery remains aligned to business priorities and strategic objectives.
  • Manage dependencies, risks and competing priorities to enable predictable and efficient delivery.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to ensure technical delivery and change management activities are aligned.
  • Partner with architects and engineers to shape delivery approaches that balance speed, quality, scalability and technical best practice.
  • Facilitate technical workshops, planning sessions and discussions, ensuring clear decisions, ownership and next steps.
  • Drive delivery planning, forecasting and continuous improvement activities across the team.
  • Coach and support teams in Agile ways of working, helping create a culture of accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and report on delivery performance within projects, using metrics and insights to support decision-making and highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as a key link between engineering teams, leadership and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the technical delivery lifecycle.

  • Resilience, adaptability and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and resolving challenges.

Experience within the legal sector, or with platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Peppermint CX365 or similar enterprise technologies, would be advantageous but is not essential.
