Position: Technical Delivery Manager

Contract: 6-month fixed term, with potential extension

Locations: Manchester, Milton Keynes, London, or Guildford

Salary: North - £53,352 - £70,000; South - £55,552 - £75,000

As part of our Web Operations Team within the Marketing & Brand department, you will lead the delivery of our web product roadmap, ensuring technical enhancements align with customer needs, operational priorities, and our overarching strategy.

Your role involves coordinating internal teams and external developers to maintain website stability, especially during critical periods like the summer exam series, focusing on reliability and clarity.

This hands-on, delivery-oriented role is ideal for someone skilled in team coordination, problem-solving in complex environments, and maintaining momentum on digital projects.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leading digital delivery – Manage the full lifecycle of web projects from discovery to deployment.
2. Collaborating across teams – Work closely with product managers, analysts, developers, and partners.
3. Supporting third-party delivery – Oversee external vendors to ensure quality and timeliness.
4. Promoting continuous improvement – Implement agile and lean practices to enhance processes and product quality.
5. Embedding customer focus – Ensure developments meet the needs of teachers, students, and schools.
6. Governance & reporting – Regularly update senior stakeholders on progress, budgets, and risks.
7. Exam delivery support – Provide leadership during exam periods to ensure system stability.

Candidate Profile:

• Experienced in agile web project delivery with a focus on outcomes and stakeholder needs.
• Technically proficient with a good understanding of digital platforms and software development.
• Calm and collaborative, capable of managing pressure and ambiguity.
• Outcome-driven, with a passion for process improvement and digital fluency.
• A natural facilitator who can lead workshops and stakeholder meetings effectively.
