Job description

We're partnering with a highly respected organisation that operates critical digital platforms and services at significant scale. As part of an ongoing technology transformation, they are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to help drive the delivery of complex products, platforms and services within a modern, product-centric operating model.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced delivery professional who enjoys working at the intersection of product, engineering and business stakeholders, enabling high-performing teams to deliver valuable outcomes predictably, efficiently and at pace.

The Role

As a Technical Delivery Lead, you'll be responsible for creating the conditions that allow engineering and product teams to succeed. You'll facilitate planning, forecasting and delivery activities, remove blockers, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure teams are continuously improving their ways of working.

You'll work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leaders and senior stakeholders to balance priorities, optimise delivery performance and ensure commitments are delivered effectively.

You'll also bring structure, visibility and predictability to complex delivery environments, using data and insight to support decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate quarterly and long-range planning, ensuring demand is aligned with available capacity.
  • Support roadmap delivery across platforms, products, services and strategic technology initiatives.
  • Produce reliable forecasts using delivery metrics such as throughput, velocity, lead time and cycle time.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions, ensuring visibility and proactive mitigation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data, delivery insight and team feedback.
  • Champion Agile delivery practices and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and psychological safety.
  • Partner with Engineering and Delivery leadership on resource planning, capacity management and overall delivery performance.
  • Provide clear visibility of delivery progress, challenges and dependencies to relevant stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience delivering software products, platforms or technology services within Agile and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Experience as a Delivery Lead, Delivery Manager, Agile Delivery Lead, Senior Scrum Master or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks, practices and planning cycles.
  • Experience managing delivery across multiple teams or complex programmes of work.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build strong relationships and drive outcomes without direct authority.
  • Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD and platform-based delivery.
  • Strong experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Miro or similar tooling.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A pragmatic, data-driven approach to delivery, problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications such as CSM, PSM, SAFe Agilist, ICAgile or PMI-ACP.
  • Experience within regulated industries such as financial services, government, healthcare, telecommunications or critical infrastructure.
  • Exposure to programme or portfolio-level planning and governance.

Why Apply?

This is a chance to join an organisation undergoing a significant technology evolution, where delivery excellence, Agile ways of working and continuous improvement are central to its future success.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape delivery practices, work alongside talented engineering and product teams, and contribute to digital services that operate at considerable scale and importance.

It's an opportunity to make a tangible impact in an environment where strong technical delivery and effective collaboration are key to delivering meaningful outcomes.
