Job Description:

We are looking for a Technical Co-Ordinator (Mechanical & Electrical) to join our Wastewater Operations Team working across the Cherwell areas based at Banbury Wastewater Treatment Works.

The role is predominantly field-based, working as part of a close and supportive Field Operations team.

As the Technical Coordinator, you will collaborate with local Performance Managers and a team of technicians with diverse skillsets ranging from unskilled to mechanical, electrical, and ICA.

You will manage maintenance activities through internal teams and external contractors, ensuring site KPIs for plant availability are met, while delivering high-quality service within budget.

Responsibilities include:
  • Managing SAP pre-requisites for complex jobs, including materials, permits, resources, and services.
  • Designing operationally critical jobs using technical expertise and field data.
  • Highlighting operational risks and presenting funding proposals.
  • Maintaining plant and equipment availability and optimizing treatment processes.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Providing technical advice and solutions for operational risks.
  • Obtaining quotes, ordering materials, and coordinating third-party services.
  • Ensuring health and safety compliance, including RAMS, permits, and site audits.
  • Meeting statutory maintenance requirements for assets like lifting equipment, pressure vessels, and generators.
Candidate requirements:
  • Relevant experience in Water or Wastewater treatment, or similar industry, preferably as a Mechanical, Electrical, or ICA technician.
  • Logical thinking and dependency management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset for working with various teams and external parties.
  • Technical asset maintenance knowledge.
  • Understanding of asset importance and interrelations.
  • Meticulous documentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with IT systems, especially SAP, and effective communication skills.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • A full current driving license is essential, as travel between sites is required with provided vehicle.
