Job summary

DCV Technologies seeks an experienced SolarWinds Engineer / SolarWinds Technical Consultant for a six-month contract in Durrington, West Sussex. The role is hybrid, offering hands-on work with the SolarWinds Orion Platform to enhance infrastructure monitoring, alerting, event management and operational visibility across a complex Windows Server, Linux and VMware environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure and optimise the SolarWinds Orion platform.

• Onboard servers, network devices and applications into SolarWinds.
• Configure SolarWinds agents, alerts and thresholds.
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Improve alert management, event correlation and automation.
• Support VMware-based on-premises infrastructure monitoring.
• Assist with ServiceNow integration and ITSM processes.
• Support observability improvements including APM/DEM/Azure monitoring.
• Produce monitoring documentation and standards.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced SolarWinds Engineer / SolarWinds Technical Consultant to support a major enterprise IT infrastructure and observability improvement programme.

This six-month contract offers the opportunity to work hands-on with the SolarWinds Orion Platform, improving infrastructure monitoring, alerting, event management and operational visibility across a complex Windows Server, Linux and VMware environment.

You will work alongside infrastructure, application support and IT service management teams to enhance monitoring capabilities, reduce outstanding technical work and improve service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure and optimise the SolarWinds Orion monitoring platform.
• Design and implement infrastructure monitoring solutions across Windows and Linux servers.
• Onboard servers, network devices and applications into SolarWinds monitoring.
• Configure SolarWinds agents, alerts, events and monitoring thresholds.
• Troubleshoot monitoring incidents and perform root cause analysis.
• Improve alert management, event correlation and monitoring automation.
• Support monitoring across VMware-based, on-premises infrastructure.
• Assist with ServiceNow integration, ITSM processes and CMDB alignment.
• Support observability improvements involving APM, DEM and Azure monitoring.
• Produce technical documentation and monitoring standards.
