About the role

Ecclesiastical Insurance, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Technical Claims Handler to join our offices in Gloucester, Manchester, or London on a hybrid basis.

The Technical Claims Handler will advise, negotiate, and settle claims efficiently and cost-effectively within designated authority and service standards.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Manage complex claims within your authority, adhering to technical audit requirements.
  • Regularly review and report on your claims portfolio.
  • Identify and resolve complaints per company policy.
  • Proactively identify fraud using conversation management skills.
  • Work towards leakage and reserving targets.
  • Provide coaching to develop team skills and knowledge.
  • Identify and deliver training as needed.
  • Act on audit results and improve performance.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Proven property claims handling experience, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • Understanding of property policy coverage, including interpretation, conditions, and exclusions.
  • Experience with complaint handling up to and including submissions to the Financial Ombudsman Service is desirable.
  • Ability to manage claims as a financial portfolio, including recoveries and audits.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and managing change projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and workload efficiently.
