Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is representing a well-established engineering manufacturer seeking a Technical Buyer to join their team in Redhill. This role supports day-to-day procurement across a wide supplier base, raises purchase orders, and collaborates with engineering, production and planning to ensure timely deliveries.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing procurement experience, strong supplier communication, and a practical understanding of ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

Previous experience in purchasing/procurement in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Good understanding of supply chain processes and procurement best practices.
Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Comfortable working with ERP systems and Excel.
Proactive, organised, and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

Support day-to-day procurement activities across a wide supplier base.
Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Source new suppliers and obtain quotations in line with business requirements.
Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and address any delivery or quality issues.
Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to support operational requirements.
Maintain accurate records within ERP systems.
Assist with stock control and inventory management where required.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and procurement processes.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function.
