Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer for a precision-engineered components supplier in Crawley. The role focuses on purchasing complex materials and subcontract services, ensuring supply continuity, technical compliance, and on-time delivery.

You will convert MRP demands into POs, manage supplier performance, issue RFQs, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production teams to drive cost and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Buyer or procurement professional.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Convert MRP demand into purchase orders with technical documentation.
• Manage supplier performance, expediting, and recovery actions to maintain OTIF.
• Issue RFQs and support technical sourcing activities.
• Maintain accurate master data and ERP information.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production teams.
• Oversee subcontract processes including machining, fabrication, and finishing.
• Contribute to cost control, supplier development and continuous improvement.
