Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is representing an established and growing manufacturer of bespoke engineering and food processing equipment seeking an experienced Engineering Buyer to join their procurement team. You will source engineered components, raw materials and services for production, negotiate terms and ensure cost-effective procurement while meeting quality and delivery requirements.

• Previous experience in technical or engineering procurement within manufacturing or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of materials, components and supplier markets.
• Ability to interpret drawings, BOMs and specifications for purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Source engineered components, raw materials, tooling and services from approved suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms.
• Develop supplier relationships and monitor performance for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Quality to meet regulatory and technical standards.
• Drive cost-saving opportunities through alternative sourcing and value engineering.
• Manage procurement data: pricing, lead times and supplier performance.
