Job summary

IDEX Material Processing Technologies in Evesham is seeking a Technical Author to draft and deliver technical documentation for Matcon equipment, collaborating with engineers, project managers and operations to ensure accurate, user-friendly publications.

You will support new publications and ongoing improvements, manage documentation configurations, and coordinate with suppliers for conformity docs, translations, and stock item specs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communications, or a related discipline.
• Experience creating documentation for machinery, preferably in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
• Understanding of Machinery Directive/Regulation, CE/UKCA marking, and ATEX directives.

Responsibilities

• Draft and maintain Operating Instructions, Maintenance Instructions, Installation Instructions for all Matcon equipment.
• Assemble OEM equipment documentation for inclusion in customer documentation packs.
• Compile conformity documentation for food and pharmaceutical customers including supplier part certification and QA documents.
• Liaise with engineering teams to incorporate design changes into standard technical documentation and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Manage configuration of documentation and ensure revisions reflect latest design and safety principles.
• Create and update technical specification documents (System Overviews, Functional Specifications).
• Support the Design Risk Assessment process from a documentation point of view.
• Create and update equipment spare parts lists with engineering and spares teams.
• Support commercial and purchasing teams to identify and obtain supplier documentation.
• Manage translation process with external supplier for all technical documents.
• Manage material conformity documentation for stock items from suppliers.
