Job summary

ConSol Partners is seeking a Technical Author to join a specialist engineering organisation in Lincolnshire. You will create and maintain technical documentation for complex defence and engineering systems, collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts.

No prior Technical Author experience is required; full training and mentoring will be provided, with opportunities to travel occasionally across the UK and overseas. Hybrid working is offered with one day onsite per week.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or engineering background with technical understanding.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Experience reading engineering drawings or technical documentation.
• Military or defence industry experience.
• UK-based and eligible for Security Clearance (SC).

Responsibilities

• Produce clear, accurate technical documentation and manuals.
• Gather information from engineers, drawings, specifications and standards.
• Interpret complex technical information and present it in a user-friendly format.
• Update and maintain existing technical publications.
• Support projects across engineering and defence programmes.
• Attend customer and engineering sites when required.
