Job summary

Acron Aviation is seeking a Flight Simulation Software Engineer to develop real-time software for our flight simulators, from control systems to graphical interfaces. You will support integration, testing, fault finding and post-delivery customer support.

You will contribute to the full lifecycle from requirements analysis to customer acceptance, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on safety and quality, and you must have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

  • An engineering degree or equivalent in maths, science or engineering.
  • Good grasp of systems engineering V-model and SDLC.
  • Able to work autonomously in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time software for flight simulators, from control systems to GUIs.
  • Support integration, testing, fault finding and rectification on simulated systems.
  • Contribute to the full lifecycle from requirements analysis to customer acceptance.

What The Role Will Involve
  • Develop real-time software for flight simulators, from control systems to graphical user interfaces.
  • Support integration and testing, fault finding and problem rectification on simulated systems.
  • You will play an integral role in the full lifecycle of the product from requirements analysis through to customer acceptance and post-delivery customer support
What You’ll Bring

The role of a Flight Simulation Software Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

  • A good practical understanding of the Systems Engineering V-model and/or the Software Development Lifecycle
  • An individual with drive, enthusiasm and can-do attitude coupled with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal, presentation, written communication and inter-personal skills
  • An appropriate engineering degree or equivalent (with mathematics, science or engineering) or proven engineering experience in the aviation/aerospace industry.
Desirable Skills and Competencies
  • Experience of safety critical systems and software in aerospace, automotive or a related industry
  • C# & C++ programming
  • Knowledge of ARINC, AFDX and/or CAN bus protocols
  • Challenging Projects: Work on the design, development, and integration of flight simulators used by top-tier aerospace organizations.
  • Collaborative Environment: Engage with cross-functional teams of experts in systems, hardware, and software engineering.
  • Innovative Technology: Build next-gen simulation solutions, including control systems, user interfaces, and avionics hardware.
