Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking a Technical Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract at our advanced processing site in Wednesbury. The role supports product specifications, quality systems and lab data, working with Production to drive QA and technical projects.

You will assist with GMP audits, sampling, and document control while developing hands-on experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. A degree in Food Science/Technology is preferred and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or related discipline.
• Experience in technical, quality or food manufacturing is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Product Specifications Coordinator and Production teams with new and existing product specifications and quality assurance activities.
• Support the control and maintenance of the Quality Management System, including document control and revision of procedures and forms.
• Coordinate GMP audits to ensure regular assessment and compliance.
• Submit laboratory sample data and maintain accurate records.
• Support planning, organisation and communication of factory trials.
• Coordinate product and environmental sampling activities.
• Assist with technical projects and completion of information requests.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the Technical function.

Telford/Wednesbury/Dudley | Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00

Your key responsibilities as a Technical Assistant will include:

• Assisting the Product Specifications Coordinator and Production teams with new and existing product specifications and quality assurance activities

• Supporting continuous improvement activities across the Technical function

What we are looking for:

You may be:

• A recent graduate with a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline
• Someone with previous technical, quality or food manufacturing experience looking to further their career
