Job summary

Ethero Staffing seeks a Technical Assistant in Telford for a permanent role with a £28,000 annual salary. The position runs 7am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, with all breaks paid.

You will support food safety, quality assurance, HACCP and regulatory compliance across production and warehouse areas. Key duties include daily QA checks, record collection and filing, goods-in checks, label verification, audits, and maintaining technical specs and supplier documents.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical, QA, food safety or administration roles.
• Understanding of HACCP and GMP practices.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily QA checks (temperature verification, scale and probe checks) across production and warehouse.
• Collect, complete and file production and QA records.
• Conduct routine goods-in and product checks including packaging, codes, batch details and labelling.
• Carry out label checks to ensure compliance with legislation.
• Assist with routine hygiene, GMP and Glass & Plastic audits.
• Maintain product technical information (specifications, ingredients, allergens, storage and shelf-life).
• Help manage controlled document system and ensure SOPs are current and accessible.

We are looking for experienced food production QA administrator who will be supporting the food safety, quality assurance, HACCP and regulatory compliance requirements.

Main job duties:

• Daily QA checks (Temperature verification for all temperature-controlled areas at both Production site and Warehouse, scale verification and probe verification)
• Collect, complete (where required) and file all production & QA records
• Carry out routine goods-in and product checks, including packaging condition, product identification, date codes, batch details, labelling, supplier information, and product temperatures.
• Label checks to ensure compliance with legislation and ensure products are labelled correctly
• Assist with routine hygiene, GMP and Glass & Plastic audits
• Maintain product technical information, including specifications, ingredients, allergens, storage instructions, cooking instructions, shelf-life information, and supplier approval documents.
• Help maintain the controlled document system, ensuring policies, SOPs, forms, and records are current, version-controlled, and accessible to the relevant teams.

Ideal candidate will need to:

• Have experience in a technical, quality assurance, food safety, food operations, supply chain or administration role, ideally within food and drink.
• Understand basic food safety principles.
• Have experience with, or an interest in, frozen or chilled food storage.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and be comfortable checking records, labels, specifications, batch information and traceability information accurately.
• Be highly organised, with the ability to maintain documents, spreadsheets, logs and follow-up actions in a controlled and consistent way.
