Overview

You will work closely with the production team to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to enhance product quality. Attention to detail and a strong understanding of quality assurance principles are essential for success in this role.

Up to £27,000

Location

Site Based (Greater Manchester, further details can be provided over the phone).

Hours

Rotating shifts

Week 1 Monday – Thursday 06:00–14:30 and Friday 06:00-13:30

Week 2 Monday – Thursday 08:00-16:30 and Friday 07:30 – 15:00

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of all quality paperwork received and/or returned from other Departments.
Achieve departmental business objectives, contribute to product and site quality, food safety, hygiene standards and continuous improvements, cost reductions, reduction in waste and the control of non-conforming products.
Ensure that all quality and food safety systems are operated throughout all departments with full documentation and that these meet the requirements within the BRC Global Food standard and legislation.
Ensure tasks (QA Matrix) and any other requested activities are completed within the designated timescales.
Assist with customer complaints: identify root causes and determine corrective actions to prevent further complaints; ensure complaints are closed out per procedure; determine supplier corrective actions where applicable; monitor complaint trends and communicate them to relevant personnel responsible for corrective action.
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers, external contacts and colleagues.
Prepare and assist in customer visits and site Technical audits where necessary.

Qualifications / Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in conducting quality tests and inspections on raw materials and finished products.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions.
Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
Certification in quality assurance or related fields is a plus.
HACCP and Food Safety qualifications are essential.
