At Kantar Media, we are experts in understanding the changing media landscape. Our Audience Measurement teams develop new approaches, including our Focal Meter, which measures all home viewing delivered via IP over the home Wi-Fi network. We operate multiple services that use data from Focal Meters to collect online content across Panel homes. We are the official provider of viewing data for UK broadcast channels, working closely with Barb (formerly BARB - The Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board), a key player in UK television and advertising industry decision-making.
Barb data helps in deciding TV programme production and distribution, negotiating advertising prices, and planning TV advertising campaigns.
