A bit about the role...
Working in a team with our Senior Technical Accounting Managers, the Technical Accounting Manager will play a critical role in providing technical accounting advice and support across Agency programmes and initiatives to ensure projects are accounted for appropriately. The role is key to ensuring that International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), HM Treasury Financial Reporting Manual (FReM), Consolidated Budgeting Guidance (CBG), and Managing Public Money (MPM) requirements are interpreted and applied correctly, assessing changes to these requirements and working with other finance teams to implement them. The role will also involve managing the accounting for group companies and partnering/joint venture arrangements in collaboration with the Technical Accounting team. You will join a small, friendly team within the wider finance function.

A bit about you…
While our primary focus is delivering excellent service on complex accounting issues, you will be adept at multitasking and continuously seeking improvements and innovations. You will communicate and present financial information to various stakeholders, including boards and committees. You will be involved in preparing specific sections of the Annual Report and Financial Statements, including IFRS disclosures.
You will support the team and wider Agency with complex accounting issues, ensuring transactions are correctly treated in the financial statements. A solid knowledge of IFRS and CBG is essential.

You will be resilient, capable of managing senior stakeholders, and your discussions will be informed by a strong understanding of the commercial and operational impacts of our work. You will enjoy working in an innovative, engaging way, with strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
As an experienced finance professional, you will demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills, working collaboratively and inclusively.
To qualify, you must have completed a recognized postgraduate professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA).
