Job summary

Greene King, the country’s leading pub company, seeks a Finance Centre of Excellence Technical Accountant to lead complex accounting across VAT, IFRS16 and Fixed Assets. You will provide specialist guidance, ensure governance and drive improvements across the R2R CBS and related teams.

This role requires advanced Excel and ERP skills, UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge, and the ability to coach colleagues while supporting statutory reporting, audits and transformational finance projects.

Qualifications

• Technical accounting lead across VAT, Treasury, Fixed Assets, IFRS16 and other specialist accounting areas.
• Experience preparing technical accounting papers.
• Support for statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements.
• Review of complex accounting transactions and balance sheet integrity.
• Support finance transformation, system implementations and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting across VAT, Treasury, Fixed Assets, IFRS16 and related areas.
• Assess and implement accounting standard changes.
• Support statutory reporting, audits and compliance.
• Review complex accounting transactions and balance sheet integrity.
• Drive finance transformation and system enhancements.
• Coach and share knowledge to increase technical capability across teams.
• Ensure IFRS/UK GAAP compliance and timely reporting.
