Job summary

Greene King is seeking a Finance Centre of Excellence Technical Accountant to act as subject matter expert for VAT, Fixed Assets, IFRS16 and Treasury. You will provide specialist accounting support across the FCoE, ensuring compliance, governance and best practice while reducing dependency on Corporate and Group Finance.

You’ll lead IFRS/UK GAAP technical work, review complex transactions, support statutory reporting, audits and finance transformation initiatives, and coach teams to raise

• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS and UK GAAP).
• IFRS16 accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing technical accounting papers.
• Experience across multiple legal entities.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical accounting across VAT, Treasury, Fixed Assets and IFRS16.
• Assess and implement accounting standard changes.
• Support statutory reporting, audits and compliance requirements.
• Review complex accounting transactions and balance sheet integrity.
• Support finance transformation, system implementations and process improvements.
• Provide subject matter expertise for all technical accounting matters within the FCoE.
• Ensure IFRS, VAT legislation and company accounting policies are followed.
• Deliver robust technical accounting guidance for complex transactions.
• Support timely period-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity through review and challenge of treatments.
• Assist internal and external audits and implement changes on time.
• Increase technical capability across R2R CBS and Fixed Asset teams through coaching.

• Drive continuous improvement in controls, processes and financial reporting quality.
• Support successful delivery of finance transformation and system implementation projects.
• Improve governance and reduce reliance on Corporate and Group Finance for technical accounting matters.
• Maintain high levels of stakeholder satisfaction through effective support and communication.
