Job description

Job Title: Technical Account Lead

As a Technical Account Lead, you will be part of the Business Development Team, working to meet business objectives and expand our portfolio by delivering for existing clients and exploring new opportunities. Your role involves providing assurance and confidence to customers using the AIVR or DepotMATE systems, ensuring these systems meet their expectations and requirements.

You will oversee the technical success of various accounts and projects, from initial surveys and trials to ongoing system usage, while identifying opportunities for technical advancements and deployments. Additionally, you'll prepare for project launches, liaising across sectors and teams to ensure successful deployment and usage.

With your growing knowledge and customer relationship skills, you'll identify further opportunities for customer engagement. Collaborating with Business Development and Commercial teams, you will provide technical insights and support for proposals aimed at growing customer accounts, ensuring high customer satisfaction and technical success.

You will be based in Derby or Bristol, with travel to internal and customer sites as needed. You will demonstrate AIVR/DepotMATE capabilities and conduct lightweight technical surveys (training provided) to facilitate technical discussions.

Responsibilities
  1. Support customer accounts within the business development team, maintaining knowledge of account targets and progress.
  2. Visit client sites to understand requirements, challenges, and opportunities; gather technical information and demonstrate equipment/data capture capabilities.
  3. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of AIVR systems and DepotMATE, supporting activity monitoring and issue resolution with internal teams.
  4. Coordinate with the Product and Technical Teams on AIVR Machine Learning models and their application to client accounts.
  5. Respond to customer calls and emails, providing system demonstrations and addressing issues.
  6. Keep records of communications and update the prospect register with new requirements.
  7. Provide feedback from customers to improve satisfaction and system performance.
  8. Assist in preparing proposal documents with technical insights and customer preferences.
  9. Share account performance metrics and growth insights with the team and management.
Personal Qualities and Experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written)
  • Comfortable using camera and technical equipment (training provided)
  • Team player with proactive initiative
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in a similar role (advantageous)
  • Rail industry experience (advantageous)
  • Experience in commercial bid writing (advantageous)
