Job summary

SCC is seeking a Tech Support - Cloud VDI professional to join the UK Infrastructure Team. You will handle incidents and tasks via ServiceNow, plan changes, and liaise with teams to deliver chargeable work for customers. Security clearance or eligibility is required.

Role requires strong Citrix, VDI, and AD skills, plus experience with AppSense/Ivanti and FSLogix. Hybrid working in the UK and a competitive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in IT systems administration or engineering roles within large MSPs.
• Expertise in virtualized Desktop environments Citrix, Citrix Cloud, AVD, Azure Stack HCI, and Nerdio.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server 2012–2019 and Active Directory for GPOs.
• Knowledge of AppSense/Ivanti, FsLogix, Netscaler, XenApp/XenDesktop, Delivery Controllers.

Responsibilities

• Manage technologies such as Citrix Onprem & Cloud, AVD and Nerdio.
• Understand virtualization environments like VMware, Hyper-V and Azure.
• Work with AD GPOs and profile management including FsLogix.
• Provide clear technical support for Citrix environments including Netscaler, XenApp/XenDesktop.
• Support User Workspace Environments and use tools to enhance user experience across virtual platforms.
• Troubleshoot and document configurations, changes, and SOPs.

Contract Type: Permanent

Role purpose:

The role will be a Tech support VDI as part of Uk Infrastructure Team supporting the Virtualised Desktop environments, the role will include resolving Incidents & Tasks raised by the customer through service now, planning and implementing changes to customer requirements, Liaising with TSMs, projects, and other parts of the business to carry out chargeable work for customers or other business areas.

Security Clearance or eligibility to get it will be required for this role!

Key responsibilities:

• Manage technologies such as Citrix Onprem & Cloud, AVD and Nerdio.
• Have a good understanding of virtualization environments such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V & Microsoft Azure.
• Having a good understanding of Active Directory inc GPO’s for desktop and profile management including FsLogix
• Knowledge in managing Citrix Systems: Provide clear technical support for Citrix environments, including Netscaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, Delivery Controllers and Profile Management.
• Support User Workspace Environments: Implement and utilise tools like AppSense/Ivanti/FSLogix for User Workspace Management to enhance user experience across virtual platforms.
• Good understanding of Microsoft server products (Windows 2012-2022) Good understanding of the certificate renewal process and certificate chains within Citrix
• Troubleshooting: Provide second-line support for IT systems, ensuring timely resolution or esca-lation of technical issues.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of system configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures.
• Understanding of ITIL

Skills and experience:

• Relevant experience in IT systems administration or engineering roles within large MSPs.
• Relevant expertise in a variety of virtualized Desktop environments Citrix, Citrix Cloud, AVD, Az-ure Stack HCI, and Nerdio
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server (2012–2019) and associated technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory for GPO’s.
• Strong knowledge of tools like AppSense/Ivanti, FsLogix, Netscaler, XenApp, XenDesktop, Deliv-ery Controller
• Good problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
• Desirable certifications, including Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar qualifications.
• Good Time management, effective communication to customer and senior engineers. Good understanding of customer/client relationships
