Job summary

CreateFuture in Leeds is seeking a Tech Lead to drive architecture, delivery and hands-on engineering across client projects. You will mentor engineers, set standards, and oversee end-to-end delivery while collaborating with clients at multiple levels to maximise business value.

You will lead architecture, design and code reviews, champion modern practices, and guide teams through challenging technical decisions in a dynamic consultancy environment.

Qualifications

• Proven, hands-on technical leader delivering complex software.
• Demonstrate thought-leadership; support clients and colleagues to understand possibilities.
• Line-manage a team of engineers while maintaining personal delivery contributions.
• Commercial experience with .Net and Java or frontend.
• Experience with at least one major cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and modern infra practices (containers, CI/CD, IaC).
• Strong delivery fundamentals: estimation, planning, risk/issue/dependency management.
• Communicate designs and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Skilled in difficult conversations and actionable feedback; set clear standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, solution design, and documentation; make pragmatic technology choices.
• Contribute code where appropriate; set engineering standards and ensure reviews, testing and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex issues; drive root-cause fixes and follow-up actions.
• Own technical outcomes: scope, estimate, plan, and track to goals; manage risks and dependencies.
