Job summary

Wheely in West London is hiring a Technical Lead Manager to lead a growing tech squad focused on premium transport experiences. You will mentor ~10 engineers, shape system architecture, and drive delivery across backend services written in Go and other languages.

The role is hybrid with four days in the office and one remote day, offering a strong compensation package (£130k-£160k) and stock options, private medical insurance, and relocation support.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing scalable backend services.
• Proficiency with Go/Ruby/Python/C++/Java/Kotlin languages.
• In-depth knowledge of databases and messaging systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Upper-Intermediate or higher English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of ~10 developers on day-to-day tasks.
• Architect medium- and large-sized features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and align goals.
• Contribute to design and evaluation of technical requirements with the team.
• Write and review clean, scalable Go code and maintain documentation.
