Job summary

1inch is seeking an experienced Tech Lead, Backend (Go, TypeScript) to lead the backend platform services powering the core DeFi platform. This hands-on role requires strong technical leadership and a focus on scalable, secure systems.

You will mentor engineers, own the technical direction of your team's services, and collaborate with Product, Blockchain, Infrastructure and DevOps to deliver high-quality software in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional backend software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Recent Defi/Blockchain or Web3 experience as Tech Lead or Senior engineer.
• Expert-level Go backend development; strong TypeScript experience.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, cloud-native systems.
• Experience building secure, scalable production systems.
• Knowledge of blockchain infrastructure, indexing and Web3 backend.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering and AI-native environments.
• Ability to guide engineering teams and set standards.
• Excellent system design, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design and micro-architecture of backend services.
• Lead technical planning, implementation decisions and architecture reviews.
• Establish engineering standards, coding practices and backend architecture patterns.
• Balance feature delivery with long‑term maintainability, reliability and technical debt reduction; write production code in Go and TypeScript.
• Design, build and operate scalable, resilient and high-performance backend services.
• Build backend systems that integrate with smart contracts, blockchain infrastructure and Web3 services.
• Lead AI‑first engineering practices while mentoring engineers and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
