Job summary

Barking Abbey School is seeking a Technology and Art Technician (including Hospitality) to support practical lessons across Technology, Art and Hospitality departments. The role includes preparing materials, setting up equipment and maintaining stock, with a focus on food tech facilities.

The position is permanent, 35 hours per week, term-time only, roughly 8am–4pm, with specialist training offered. The school is a high-performing, Ofsted Outstanding academy near Upney and Barking stations.

• Previous experience in Technology, Art, Hospitality or Food Technology is beneficial; willingness to learn is valued.
• Specialist training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical and organisational support for practical lessons, including preparing and setting up materials, apparatus and equipment.
• Order and organise resources, maintain stock and provide in-class technical support to teachers and students.
• Assist with Hospitality and Food Technology lessons, ensuring cooking areas and equipment are safe and well maintained.
