Team Support Officer Apprentice - Lighthouse Victim & Witness Care Team

Bridewell, Bristol, BS1 2AA.

Bring Your Unique Perspective. Build your future with us.

Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship | Earn While You Learn

Are you ready to start your career while gaining a nationally recognised qualification?

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our Lighthouse Victim & Witness Care Team as Team Support Officer Apprentices. This is an exciting opportunity to achieve a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship while gaining valuable workplace experience in a professional and supportive environment.

The successful applicant will commence on a scale 2 salary which equates to £24,747 per annum.

The Team Support Officer Apprentice role

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in a busy professional environment where your work will help ensure victims and witnesses receive a high‑quality service throughout the criminal justice process.

Working alongside experienced colleagues, you'll learn how to provide effective administrative support, manage information, coordinate activities and communicate with a range of internal departments and external partner organisations. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys learning, problem‑solving and developing new skills.

What will you be doing?
  • Managing team inboxes, workflows and administrative tasks.
  • Supporting the allocation and monitoring of work across teams.
  • Processing referrals and assisting with case management activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records, databases and information systems.
  • Learning how to analyse information and identify actions on police systems.
  • Producing professional documents, reports and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Supporting communication between departments and partner organisations.
  • Assisting with case administration and information management processes.
  • Developing excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll be supported to build confidence in workplace systems, business processes and professional communication.

Skills and experience required:

You do not need previous policing experience. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are keen to learn, develop professionally and build a career in business administration.

This apprenticeship is designed for people who want to gain new skills, knowledge and experience in a supportive workplace. As this is a development opportunity, it is intended for applicants who have not already achieved a Business Administration qualification, or a similar qualification, at the same level or higher. We are looking for potential, motivation and a willingness to learn, rather than extensive experience in a similar role.

We would love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude towards learning and personal development.
  • Confidence using computers and digital technology.
  • An ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Problem‑solving skills and a willingness to take initiative.
  • Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Additional Information:

You must be aged 18 or over due to the nature of the role.

Desirable but not essential - grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

Specific locations, working arrangements, including any flexible or hybrid working opportunities, will be discussed during the recruitment process.

We anticipate this apprenticeship will commence in February 2027; however, the start date is dependent on the satisfactory completion of the recruitment process and pre‑employment checks.

Initial applications will be sifted by our training provider City of Bristol College.

To be eligible to apply for this role you must have a 3 year ‘checkable history’ in the UK – ideally this means that you would have been resident in the UK for the last 3 years.

For More Information About The Apprenticeship:

If you’re considering applying for this opportunity and would like to learn more before submitting your application, we will be hosting a virtual information session on Monday 2 November 2026 at 18:00 hours.
