Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers PLC is seeking a friendly soft play team member to maintain a safe, fun environment for children and assist parents. You will engage with guests, support birthday parties, and contribute to sales across our brand venues.

The role celebrates teamwork, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with children, with DBS checks expected as part of recruitment. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly, patient manner.
• Ability to adapt behaviour to different situations.
• Capable of managing and interacting with large groups of guests.
• Enjoys working with children and is reliable.

Responsibilities

• Answer guest queries about products, prices and facilities.
• Handle phone enquiries in a warm, helpful manner.
• Maintain a clean, tidy reception area at all times.
• Create a fun, safe environment prompting return visits.
• Assist with children's birthday parties and activities.
• Provide face painting and balloon modelling.
• Sell food and drink items to guests.

Job description

You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of play for all children, while promoting a happy yet safe atmosphere, overseeing the soft play area and assisting parents with any needs. It goes without saying that you must love working with children, have a good sense of humour and be a responsible and organised person.

Due to the nature of the role, successful applicants will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process.

What You’ll Do In This Role

• Answering guest queries on products, prices & house facilities/activities
• Dealing with enquiries by telephone in a warm & friendly manner, endeavouring at all times to accommodate their requests
• Ensure a clean & tidy environment at all times & ensure that the reception area is tidy & ready for service at all times
• Help create a fun, exciting & safe environment so that every guest leaves wanting to return
• Help run children’s Birthday parties, taking control and interacting with the children
• Face painting & Balloon modelling
• Selling of various food and drink items to guests
