We’re looking for a confident, customer focused person who enjoys working in a front of house environment and feels comfortable combining great conversations with clear sales outcomes. You’ll be part of a friendly, high performing team, welcoming and engaging visitors in a unique and inspiring heritage setting.
Alongside providing warm, confident and engaging customer service, you’ll have a clear sales focus, actively promoting Gift Aid and guidebooks and working towards weekly conversion targets. These targets are an important part of the role and are approached in a supportive, positive way, helping to enhance the visitor journey while maximising income. You’ll also have the opportunity to earn commission on every guidebook sold.
You’ll play a key role in welcoming and engaging visitors across the site. This varied role includes ticket sales, retail support, visitor welcome, and helping bring our exhibitions and interactive experiences to life. You may be based in gallery spaces, supporting hands‑on activities, demonstrating visitor experiences, overseeing interactive elements to ensure they are used safely, supporting immersive technology experiences, and helping to deliver family activities, events and parties. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining high presentation standards, including preparing activity areas and ensuring equipment is clean, safe and ready for use. No two days are the same.
These roles are primarily based in our newest attraction, Royal Marines Experience. This attraction invites the visitor to take part in challenges inspired by Commando training, explore AR and VR that take you to the action, and discover what it takes to overcome obstacles, work as a team and rise to a challenge. And we need you to help bring it to life.
Reporting to the Visitor Experience Managers, this varied and rewarding role is vital in generating the income that allows the Museum to fulfil its charitable objectives and continue preserving and sharing the story of the Royal Navy.
