Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Team Manager within the Technical team to drive results through their people, ensuring engagement, strong performance and high quality products for customers.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will lead a team of Operatives, deliver short/medium plans and KPI targets, implement technical policies, support site accreditations, uphold BRC standards, monitor KPIs, and coach talent to improve attendance, costs and overall standards.

Qualifications

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production/quality assurance operation.
• Ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistent service.
• Proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of Operatives with a coaching leadership style to develop people.
• Oversee short and medium term plans and KPI targets.
• Implement and comply with Technical policies.
• Play an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene standards meet BRC and Morrisons standards.
• Monitor and drive KPIs, taking action to meet targets daily and weekly.
• Set performance targets and create action plans to improve performance.
• Drive continuous improvement strategies.
• Identify and develop talent through coaching and guidance.
• Attend to colleague welfare and attendance standards.
• Allocate tasks and conduct daily shift briefs; manage weekly technical labour plan.
• Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications.

Our Team Managers have the operation nailed. They're responsible for driving results through their teams. It's up to them to ensure their people are engaged, well managed and productive. It's fast and ever-changing - are you up for the challenge? In this role you will manage a team of colleagues within the Technical team, working to deliver a high quality product to our customers.

Reporting into the Technical Manager, other responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of Operatives, as a strong people developer and performance manager through a coaching leadership style
• Overseeing the establishment of short and medium term plans and KPI targets
• Implementation of and compliance to Technical policies
• Playing an active role in achieving site accreditations where applicable
• Ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards comply with BRC and Morrisons food safety standards
• Monitoring and driving KPIs and taking action to ensure they are all met on a daily and weekly basis
• Setting performance targets and reviewing progress and creating action plans to improve performance (including reducing of costs and the improvement of standards across all areas)
• Looking for solutions to problems and driving continuous improvement strategies
• Spotting and developing talent in your team through coaching and guidance
• Looking after colleague welfare and improving attendance standards
• Allocating tasks and holding daily shift briefs, and being accountable for the weekly technical labour plan
• Ensure compliance with raw material and finished product specifications

More about you

As well as having a strong work ethic. You will also have:

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production / quality assurance operation
• The ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistency in service to our customers, and will demonstrate your ability to problem solve
• A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and challenge the status quo
• Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot
• An understanding of cost models and experience of budgetary control and understanding pest control management.
