Job summary

Morrisons is hiring a Team Manager to lead a shift-based production team in a fast-paced environment. You will drive performance, coach staff, and ensure productive, engaged teams across a two-week rota.

The role requires strong leadership, robust communication, and a focus on cost efficiency and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will monitor KPIs, set targets, and coordinate action plans to improve standards, attendance, and overall team performance in a

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in large-scale production, preferably food manufacturing.
• Proven ability to monitor KPIs and drive performance.
• Strong people management with coaching and development focus.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Understanding of cost models and budgetary control.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and drive KPIs daily and weekly, driving actions to meet targets.
• Set performance targets and create action plans to improve performance and reduce costs.
• Identify problems and drive continuous improvement strategies.
• Coach and develop team members, focusing on attendance and welfare.
• Allocate tasks and lead daily shift briefs to ensure smooth operations.

Shift pattern: a 2 week rota working on Monday, Thursday, Friday (week 1) and Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday (week 2) Start time: 06.00am End time: 18.00pm

• Monitoring and driving KPIs and taking action to ensure they are all met on a daily and weekly basis
• Setting performance targets and reviewing progress and creating action plans to improve performance (including reducing of costs and the improvement of standards across all areas)
• Looking for solutions to problems and driving continuous improvement strategies
• Spotting and developing talent in your team through coaching and guidance
• Looking after colleague welfare and improving attendance standards
• Allocating task and holding daily shift briefs

More about you

As well as having a strong work ethic, you will also have:

• Management/Supervisory experience within a large scale production operation, ideally across Food Manufacturing
• The ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistency in service to our customers, and will demonstrate your ability to problem solve
• A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role
• Excellent communication skills
• Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot
• A can do attitude and a strong work ethic
• An understanding of cost models and experience of budgetary control and understanding pest control management
