Job summary

Manchester City Council is recruiting for a Team Manager within the Preparing for Adulthood service. You will lead a team of assessors and workers to support transition into adulthood for young people, collaborating across Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care, Education, Health and providers.

You will drive outcomes, develop staff, and work within legal frameworks to promote positive risk-taking and aspirational goals for young people.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act in an adult social care setting.
• Experience of day-to-day management of staff in social care, including supervision responsibilities.
• Ability to lead, support, and develop ASYE or new staff effectively.
• Experience chairing meetings including safeguarding and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the team to build skills and knowledge in adult social care.
• Work with partners to support young people approaching adulthood within legal frameworks.
• Provide innovative approaches to support transitions to adulthood while safeguarding.
• Collaborate with Children’s Social Care, Adult Social Care, Education, Health, Providers and employers.
• Support young people to work towards and achieve their aspirations.
