Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Team Manager to join our Fostering service. The Connected Carers Team supports carers from viability through to post panel support, including Full Fostering Assessments and Foster Carer Reviews.

You will need a social work degree and current registration; an Enhanced DBS will be required if you succeed. The role supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements and offers professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in social work or equivalent qualification with current Social Work England Registration.
• Refer to the attached person specification for full criteria.
• Eligibility for Enhanced DBS check if successful.

Responsibilities

• Support Connected Carers from viability through post panel support.
• Conduct viability assessments and Full Fostering Assessments (Form C).
• Carry out SGO assessments, supervise foster carers, and perform unannounced visits.
• Lead Foster Carer Reviews and provide mentoring and supervision.
