Job summary

Halton Borough Council is seeking an inspirational Team Manager to lead the Children with Disabilities Team within our Children’s Services. You will provide professional leadership to social workers and practitioners to ensure high-quality, personalised support.

The role focuses on safeguarding, child-centred practice, and collaboration with families, schools, health and partner agencies. You will supervise, develop staff and ensure timely assessments and care planning.

Qualifications

• Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration.
• Significant post-qualifying experience in children's social care.
• Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
• Experience supervising and managing social work staff; strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Minimum 3 years permanent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional leadership, management and supervision to the team.
• Ensure child-centred, strengths-based practice and positive outcomes.
• Lead, motivate and develop social workers and practitioners.
• Oversee assessments, care planning, safeguarding and reviews to high standards.
